Tate Gallery of Modern Art (2016)
These are pictures of Tate Gallery of Modern Art in London Great Britain or colloquially; "The Cathedral of Modern Art", which is designed by the Swiss architects Hertzog and de Meuron (2000-16), and the English architect; Giles Scott (1940s). I was particularly interested in these two buildings' transitions between the old and new, material and sacral, and light and dark: A transition that in the interior was particuarly subtle and intricate. The exterior is however more a contrast of two architectural ereas, although similar building materials have been used. The two buildings; the Switch House and the Boiler House, is Integrated into one innovative and grand Cathedral of Modern art.
